Eva (Year 5)
Welcome from
our Head of Junior School
At PLC Perth, we believe a strong beginning sets the tone for a lifetime of learning. From her very first day, your daughter will experience a rich and engaging curriculum that nurtures curiosity, creativity and confidence. Daily specialist lessons in Music, Languages and Physical Education give her a vibrant and well-rounded start to school life.
Every child is known and valued. We celebrate each girl’s individual journey, encouraging independence, responsibility and empathy while supporting her academic growth. Small learning groups and a dedicated team of teachers, assistants and coordinators ensure every student is supported, challenged and cared for.
PLC is proud to be the only girls’ school in Western Australia to deliver the WA Curriculum through the globally recognised International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP). With its focus on inquiry, hands-on learning and critical thinking, the PYP helps girls develop a deep understanding of concepts and a lasting love of learning.
This approach underpins our consistently strong academic results, including NAPLAN scores that sit well above state and national averages. More importantly, it helps each girl grow in confidence, curiosity and character.
I am proud of what we are building in the Junior School and warmly invite you to visit and experience it for yourself.
Geraldine Drabble, Head of Junior School
Learning Through Inquiry
At PLC, we deliver the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP) – the only girls’ school in Western Australia to do so. The PYP places curiosity at the heart of learning, encouraging students to ask questions, explore ideas and make connections for themselves.
Rather than simply receiving information, girls learn by investigating, analysing and reflecting. This approach builds critical thinking and problem-solving skills, while also fostering creativity, independence and a genuine love of learning.
More About Learning at PLC
Bright Futures Start Early
The early years are the foundation of your daughter’s education. The foundations built in these formative stages shape how she learns, grows and approaches challenges.
At PLC, we recognise that every child learns differently. In some areas she may be ready to extend herself, in others she may need more support. Our teachers tailor learning to meet each student where she is, ensuring that every girl feels supported and challenged.
Starting early at PLC gives your daughter the strongest possible foundation – for school and beyond.

Community & Service Learning
Community and Service Learning in the Junior School inspires your daughter to make a positive impact on the world around her.
