Wellbeing
Pastoral Care at Our Core
We pride ourselves on providing exceptional pastoral care that nurtures the holistic development of our students. Our approach focusses on building physical, mental, and community strengths, preparing students to be brave, strong, capable, and compassionate women.
In the Junior School, Pastoral and Academic Co-ordinators work closely with classroom and specialist teachers to oversee the pastoral wellbeing and academic development of your daughter.
In the Senior School, each cohort benefits from the dedicated support of a House Tutor Group (HTG) tutor who remains with your daughter throughout her time at the College. In addition, a Pastoral and Academic Care Co-ordinator tracks your daughter’s academic and personal growth and works alongside and leads HTG tutors.
Our Deans of Wellbeing and Pastoral Care provide strategic leadership and a range of proactive and reactive wellbeing strategies and interventions to guide cohorts and individual students to thrive.
Our Approach
At PLC Perth, we don’t remove life’s challenges – we prepare your daughter to face them with strength, resilience, and a deep sense of self.
Wellbeing is woven into every part of College life, underpinned by the belief that true growth comes from learning how to navigate life’s ups and downs. Rather than shielding students from obstacles, we equip them with a practical, personalised toolkit they can draw from – not just during their school years, but for life.
Through a combination of structured wellbeing programmes, pastoral care, and everyday interactions, students learn strategies to regulate emotions, manage stress, build positive relationships, and find joy and purpose in who they are and what they do. It’s a strengths-based, proactive approach that empowers students to take ownership of their wellbeing and thrive in all aspects of life.
From the Junior School through to Year 12, our goal is to help every student build the confidence, self-awareness, and inner resources to flourish not only at school, but in their community and beyond.

Vertical House Tutor Groups
Through our Vertical House Tutor Group programme, students bond with peers and receive mentorship from older students, creating a supportive and inclusive community.
Additionally, students in Year 11 and Year 12 are provided with an extra layer of support through a mentor who is a senior or executive member of staff at PLC. This mentorship ensures that our senior students are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.
We understand the importance of a well-rounded education that goes beyond academics.
We are committed to guiding your daughter on her path to success, both within and beyond the College, ensuring she is equipped with the skills and values needed to thrive in the future.
Our pastoral care system is designed to support your daughter’s journey, helping her to develop resilience, confidence, and a sense of belonging.
