Senior School

Welcome from
our Head of Senior School

It is my pleasure to welcome you to PLC’s Senior School – a place where girls are encouraged to think independently, take on new challenges and grow in confidence.

Our dedicated teachers guide students both academically and personally, supporting them to discover their strengths and follow their passions.  In Years 11 and 12, PLC offers three senior pathways – ATAR, VET and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.  PLC is proud to be the only girls’ school in Western Australia to offer the IB Diploma, giving our students the choice of a truly global qualification alongside local options.

Senior School is a time of discovery and growth, with opportunities in leadership, service, sport and the arts sitting alongside academic achievement.  We are here to challenge, support and celebrate every step of that journey.

I look forward to seeing our students embrace all that PLC has to offer.

Rebecca Watts, Head of Senior School

Three Pathways at PLC

At Presbyterian Ladies’ College, we offer three distinct pathways to help your daughter prepare for her future.

She can choose the ATAR pathway for university entry, pursue a General/Vocational Education and Training (VET) for hands-on industry experience, or embrace a global perspective through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

Each option is designed to cater to her strengths, interests, and aspirations, ensuring she is equipped to thrive in whichever direction she chooses.

Sport

At PLC, sport is part of everyday life.  Whether your daughter plays for fun, fitness and friendship or pursues excellence on an elite pathway, she will be supported to reach her goals.

Our students enjoy expert coaching and access to a wide range of sports – from netball and hockey to swimming, athletics, rowing and beyond.  Whatever her level, she will find opportunities to belong, compete and thrive.

The Arts

Your daughter will have the opportunity to step into a world of visual, performance, and digital arts and develop her confidence in creative self-expression.

Whether it be Dance, Music, Drama, Musical Theatre, or Creative Arts, these subjects are delivered within our academic curriculum as well as within our House system and co-curricular programmes, providing an all-inclusive education.

Experiential Learning

Learning that goes beyond the classroom!

Our experiential learning programmes inspire curiosity, resilience, and real-world skills through hands-on experiences.

From the Outdoor Education Programme, where students build confidence in nature, to global and local trips that broaden perspectives, Service Learning which bridges classroom knowledge with real-world application – every opportunity is designed for growth.

Wellbeing

Our approach to wellbeing focusses on building physical, mental, and community strengths, preparing students to be brave, strong, capable, and compassionate women.

Academic Support

We recognise that every student learns differently. Our Academic Support programme is designed to meet individual needs, build on strengths, empower students to access the curriculum, and contribute to the learning experience. From in-class support and targeted enrichment classes to personalised learning plans and specialist study spaces, we provide a network of care that supports confidence, independence, and academic growth.

Academic Extension

Academic extension at PLC is about nurturing curiosity, deepening understanding, and empowering students to reach beyond the expected. Through innovative and differentiated programmes and cross-year collaborations, we challenge high-ability learners to think critically, solve complex problems, and grow in confidence.

Co-curricular Options

Our co-curricular programme is designed to nurture your daughter’s diverse interests, talents, and encourage her to explore new experiences, step outside her comfort zone, and develop a lifelong passion for learning and growth.

The PLC co-curricular programme spans a wide range of activities, including:
