Living

Welcome from the

Director of Boarding

Welcome to the PLC boarding community, where every girl is known, valued and nurtured. Our Boarding House is a home away from home, with staff who create a safe and welcoming environment where girls feel they belong.

Our team provides round-the-clock care, guiding boarders through the routines of school life – from study and wellbeing to mealtimes and downtime. Living alongside girls of different ages fosters friendships, mentoring and a real sense of family.

Weekends are a time to relax, recharge and enjoy new experiences, with activities, outings and shared events that bring the boarding community together.

With boarders joining us from across Western Australia, around Australia and overseas, we also celebrate the cultural richness they bring to our community.

Boarders are encouraged to embrace every opportunity at PLC – in academics, sport, the arts and social life – knowing they have the guidance and structure to thrive.

Ms Susie Edwards, Director of Boarding

Being a boarder at PLC is an incredible opportunity and privilege that only a handful of girls in each year get to experience. The friendships and memories that are formed create a strong sense of community and belonging, along with receiving support from staff. The relationships between the older girls supporting the younger girls offer guidance, encouragement, and a sense of security. These connections help the younger girls navigate challenges and feel more confident in their boarding experience.

Ruby (Year 11)

Current boarder

I really value the tutoring support. I love being able to have my teachers’ support as I know that what I am doing is right and I know that it matches with the syllabus correctly. Also, being able to be with my friends all the time and visit them when I need a chat is wonderful.

It’s like a home away from home – literally. PLC boarding has to be the best among all of the schools due to just how nice the girls are, the sense of community fostered, and all the staff and facilities. The housies (staff) are literally like older sisters to us. Most of them are super young and so we can really talk to them about friendship problems, family, homework – anything. All the girls are super welcoming; we all love to do things as a year group like watching movies with Milo or going to socials with other schools. It’s truly a once in a lifetime experience at PLC. Thank you.

I love being a PLC boarder because you get to try new things and just have fun. All the activities that we do like Quay2Quay makes me feel like a part of the community – not only in the Boarding House but also a part of the school community. PLC boarding make me feel at home as everyone is kind and caring. Everyone looks out for everyone and all the other girls are always there when you are home sick or just need a chat. The PLC Boarding House is more than just somewhere we stay, it’s a second home where everyone can be whoever they want to be.

Grace (Year 8)

Current boarder

I love being a boarder at PLC because the Boarding House is like a home away from home, with an amazing and supportive community. It’s a place where I can be independent while being surrounded by friends who feel like sisters. This year, having my sister join after years of boarding solo makes it even more special, it feels like I have a piece of home with me.

Imogen (Year 11)

I love being a PLC boarder because it is such an amazing opportunity and privilege. Being a new Year 7 is really fun, but can also be really challenging. There is always someone there to make me feel better, like my friends or a housie on duty. There are also so many amazing opportunities. I have not been here for that long and I’ve already been ice skating, stand up paddle boarding on the river, catching up with all my friends at an all-schools catch up at Kings Park, and more. The Boarding House is very good at taking you where you need to go when you have commitments out of school like Westside Wolves Hockey, and Storm Netball. Coming from Corrigin, a small town it the wheatbelt, I have never had as many awesome opportunities and I really love it here.
