NAPLAN Results
Year 3 NAPLAN
In Year 3, the Primary Years Programme (PYP) helps students take an important step towards becoming independent learners. While literacy and numeracy remain central, the PYP makes these subjects come alive by connecting them to real-world ideas and inquiry projects.
Instead of practising maths or language in isolation, Year 3 students explore big questions that naturally weave these skills together. This keeps their curiosity at the heart of learning, ensuring they not only master foundational knowledge but also build the confidence to apply it in creative and meaningful ways.
At this stage, students develop a stronger voice in their learning, asking questions, testing ideas, and expressing themselves with growing independence and laying the groundwork for success in later years.
Year 5 NAPLAN
By Year 5, students are ready to dive deeper into complex ideas and take more ownership of their learning. The PYP framework allows them to sharpen their literacy and numeracy skills while also building the critical and creative thinking needed for the years ahead.
Through inquiry-led projects, Year 5 students investigate real-world issues and connect classroom learning across multiple subjects. They are encouraged to question, debate, and problem-solve, which makes their learning both challenging and relevant.
A strong literacy and numeracy program is essential in Year 5, equipping students with the core skills needed to access and express their learning across all areas. These foundational capabilities support deeper thinking, effective communication, and problem-solving—key elements of successful inquiry.
