Your Journey at PLC Perth

We understand that our exceptional staff are the most important aspect of a thriving school environment. The relationships developed between staff and students are critical in ensuring our students are well-supported through their educational journey and achieve their full potential.

Just as we encourage our students to learn future skills such as critical analysis, creative thinking, and complex problem-solving. We foster an environment where our staff continuously develop these essential capabilities. As an International Baccalaureate School, PLC offers unparalleled professional development opportunities, allowing our staff to connect with global experts and continually enhance their curriculum and pedagogical knowledge and skills. Our active Staff Association also provides wonderful opportunities for collaboration and connection, both on and off campus.

I am often asked what makes PLC so special and one of the main reasons is the people. After working at a number of schools both interstate and internationally, I can honestly say I have never experienced the level of dedication to the students, to their development, and to each other that I have experienced at PLC. The culture of absolute care and compassion for the students with the collaboration and constant strive for improvement is a privilege to be part of and continue to foster.

Cate Begbie

Principal

Now that I am retired, I often reflect on how my many roles at PLC challenged and shaped me over those 36 years. I look back with gratitude for the opportunity to build such meaningful relationships with so many students and staff. I learned along the way how mentorship became a two-way street for me and I look back at PLC as a special place for both students and staff to not only grow, but to flourish.

Chris Robinson

Past Staff Member (Textiles Teacher, Head of Staff, & Co-Deputy Principal)

I love working at PLC because the girls are incredibly inspiring and eager to learn; motivating me every day. My colleagues are wonderfully supportive and kind and having been here since 2016, I can truly say I absolutely love it!

Padminee Raja-Snijder

Assistant Head of Humanities & Early Career Teacher Co-ordinator

My teaching career began in 1995 and I have worked at PLC since 2012. The camaraderie among the staff, both past and present, is truly exceptional; we support and uplift each other, creating a positive and collaborative work environment that often extends beyond the professional realm. I have forged lifelong friendships with many colleagues. Our students are motivated, eager to learn, and strive for excellence. This drive is matched by the excellent relationships we foster, built on mutual respect between students and staff. The school is well-resourced and the facilities enhance both teaching and learning experiences. Our strong history of tradition instils a sense of pride and belonging. It is a privilege to be part of such a vibrant and dedicated community.

Simone Fleay

Head of Careers and Pathways

Honestly, working at PLC brings me so much joy. It’s the kind of place where you walk in and immediately feel the warmth. The staff and senior leadership are incredibly supportive, and there’s this lovely blend of laughter, learning, and just the right amount of coffee to get through the day! I actually say it was third time lucky for me – after a few enthusiastic attempts, I finally landed the job, and I’m so glad I didn’t give up. It was absolutely worth the wait. I feel like I can bring my full self to my teaching here – creativity, curiosity, and a love for joyful, meaningful learning. The girls are brilliant and full of personality. They come bounding in, beaming with pride, waving their homework and excitedly showing me pictures of what they’ve created. It’s a privilege to be part of their journey. It’s rare to find a workplace that feels like a second home, but this one really does!

Kristen Gray

Year 1 Teacher

I love that PLC provides a holistic education. I continue to be amazed each and every day by the gifts and talents that all of our students possess, and learn as much from them as I hope they do from me.
