About the PLC Foundation

Our students today benefit from the extraordinary generosity of past generations.

Since 1915, giving has driven the very existence of PLC, enabling the College’s commitment to high-quality girls’ education.

Your Support Transforms Lives at PLC

Since the PLC Foundation’s inception in 1986, we’ve built state-of-the-art facilities and provided scholarships for many students – transforming our campus and changing lives.
This has all been made possible by the generous support of our community. With its rich philanthropic history, it is the PLC Foundation who ensure there will always be a generation at PLC who benefit from the foresight and generosity of generations past.

This can occur either through means-tested scholarships, for those girls whose family circumstance would otherwise not allow them to become a PLC girl, or through the funding of capital projects like the Swim and Recreation Centre, Science, Art and Technology facilities, or the Senior School Building.

It often comes as a surprise to many that tuition fees only cover the operating costs of the College.

Approximately 85% of expenditure is directed towards salaries and resources, reflecting PLC’s commitment to reinvesting tuition fees and other sources of funding directly back into teaching and learning.

Fees do not provide funding for new buildings or mean-tested scholarships.

Whether they be donations made during a lifetime or those given through a bequest, all gifts to the Foundation, no matter the size, support our vision to prepare every PLC student to be personally successful in our ever-evolving world.

Gifts to both the Scholarship Fund and Building Fund are fully tax deductible.

Donate to tomorrow’s legacy, today.

At PLC Perth, today’s students thrive thanks to the vision and generosity of those who came before them.

More About Donating to the PLC Foundation

There are a variety of ways you can donate generously to the PLC Foundation.

Receiving the Foundation Scholarship didn’t just change my circumstances; it changed my perspective. It proved that opportunity, when given, has the power to turn impossibilities into realities.

Enya Zankharia (2018)

Foundation Scholarship Recipient

PLC is an excellent school for our daughters, both as day students and boarders. Through our bequest to PLC, we’re excited to see the school continue to grow and become an even more outstanding school community for all students. I hope others will also consider contributing to support this fantastic school and see it flourish.

For me, the Barbara Beard Scholarship was an amazing achievement. I found the concept that past students would be so generous astounding, and was genuinely amazed and honoured that, of all people, the school wanted me! PLC isn’t only a school, but a doorway to a future to be whoever I want to be. The rounded curriculum, amazing teachers and students and caring environment mean that each person has a chance to develop their talents and abilities, not only reaching their potential but increasing it a thousandfold.

Tabitha Malet (2016)

PLC Scholarship student

My many years at PLC gave me a wonderful grounding for making lifetime friends, having an education which allowed me to have a successful career and be able to expand my horizons in the global world, as well as having the ability to continue to learn and travel extensively to constantly improve myself and my lifestyle. With my bequest to PLC, I want to encourage the current generations to have even better opportunities, in an exciting and ever-improving environment. I hope others will be inspired to contribute.

Helen Shilkin-Reinhold (1960)

Old Collegian

The College has been sustained by the generosity of many past donors and benefactors. If it is to continue to develop, provide excellence in education, be a modern and progressive school that encourages girls to be independent learners, build upon their strengths and make a worthwhile contribution to their world, then PLC will need your help. The public commitment to bequeath to the PLC Foundation is my contribution to the future.

Hon June Craig AM (Lynn 1947)

Old Collegian

PLC is a leader in education that has continuously strived to provide an environment that fosters independent learning, strength of character and a community minded spirit. The school has been supported by the generosity of many past donors and benefactors across generations of families. In order to continue to develop and support the school values of independence and strength in learning, a bequeath to the PLC Foundation is our way of contributing to PLC’s future growth to ensure ongoing excellence.
