The PLC Pipe Band is celebrating 40 years since its first performance and to commemorate this momentous occasion, PLC has a number of initiatives underway that we would love Pipe Band members past and present to be a part of.
Limited Edition 40th Anniversary PLC Pipe Band History Book
Historian, Old Collegian and current parent Lucy Hair has researched four decades of the PLC Perth Pipe Band to bring together an amazing collection of photographs and stories about the origins of the band, its tours and awards and fascinating insights from across the 40 years. Mrs Hair has also compiled a comprehensive list of every pipe band member since its inception in 1981.

40th Anniversary Celebration & Reunion
On Sunday 29 August, the PLC Perth Pipe Band was blessed at the 40th Anniversary Celebration and Reunion. Followed by a Cocktail Party at Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club, the event was a wonderful evening commemorating four decades of history.

The PLC Pipe Band is celebrating 40 years since its first performance and to celebrate this momentous occasion, PLC has produced an emotive rendition of Dawning of the Day highlighting some of Perth’s most iconic locations including Elizabeth Quay, Optus Stadium, the Blue Boathouse, and Cottesloe Beach. The video is also a nod to the PLC Perth’s Pipe Band’s unique status as the first girls’ school pipe band in Australia.
