Academic Entrance Scholarships
Each year PLC offers a number of academic scholarships for girls who are Australian residents, entering Year 7 and Year 8 the following year. Scholarship examinations for entry into Year 7 and Year 8 in 2014 have been conducted. Dates for 2015 Scholarship testing will be posted in Term 3.
Rural Bursary
Rural students who apply to sit the Scholarship Examination are considered for a rural bursary. Rural bursaries are awarded at the discretion of the Principal and are not offered every year.
Music Scholarships and Bursaries
Students wishing to apply for a Music Scholarship for Year 7 and Year 8 are required to register for the AAS Co-operative Scholarship Testing Program. Applicants will not be considered unless they have participated in this examination. Students wishing to apply for Music Bursaries are not required to sit the AAS testing. Foundation Scholarship
The PLC Foundation Scholarship is aimed at students who would otherwise be unable to attend PLC due to their family's financial situation. This scholarship is offered to successful students entering PLC in Year 7 and covers full tuition fees from Year 7 to 12.
To be eligible, applicants must be a citizen or permanent resident of Australia residing in Western Australia, must demonstrate sound academic achievement and be able to demonstrate that their family's financial situation would mean they would otherwise not be able to attend PLC.
Applications are now closed for the entry into Year 7 2014. Information for entry in 2015 will be available later in the year.
Indigenous Scholarships
PLC offers four scholarships each year to indigenous students from the Kimberley region entering Year 8. Consideration will be given to other years but Year 8 is the preferred point of entry.
Applications for 2013 are now closed.
PLC Parents’ Committee Scholarships (current students only)
Each year the PLC Parents’ Committee funds two scholarships for girls currently at the School, one each for a student entering Year 9 and Year 11 the following year.
The scholarships are open to any student not currently holding a PLC Scholarship or Bursary. Award of the scholarship has become a stamp of recognition of school and community participation across multiple fields of endeavour, and as such is to be highly regarded.
The scholarship recognises girls who have shown exceptional participation and endeavour, not only in their academic work but also in their commitment to the School's cultural/sporting programmes and/or commitment to social responsibility programmes either within the School or the community.
Applications open in Term 3, 2013.
